A Key Stage 4 (KS4) Pre-Engagement Programme will start in November 2008 and will work closely with the current KS4 Engagement Programme.
Specific roles include:
- Co-ordinating a European Social Fund (ESF) funded project offering additional learning and development opportunities for a number of targeted groups of young people aged 14-16 in Brighton and Hove, Hastings and Eastbourne.
- Developing flexible programmes of study that will engage the targeted young people and enable them to progress into further education, employment or training opportunities at 16.
- Liaising with a wide range of partners including referral, delivery, progression and strategic to ensure the projects operate smoothly and effectively.
- Working with partners to ensure each targeted young person is prepared and supported into the transition into appropriate post 16 learning. This is known as the September guarantee as outlined in the 14-19 Implementation Plan.
