Julie Watson - Adult Learning Group Project Officer / Youth Community Action Pilot Project Officer (14-16 Year olds)

Julie’s role is to support the Adult Learning Group partnership working, and highlight the value of Adult Learning including family learning.  She enjoys project managing outward facing celebratory events.

 

Recent project/event management includes:

 

  • Sustainable City Day  (with University of Sussex)
  • World Book Night  (with Jubilee Library and Uni of Sussex)
  • Brighton & Hove May Festival 2011 (with The Adult Learning Group and ESOL Learners)
  • Democracy Day (with Community & Voluntary Sector Take Part Pilot and the Communities Team)
  • White Night Nuit Blanche 2010 &  2011 (with cultural services)
  • Adult Learner of the Year Award Ceremony (the Community Skills & Learning Team)
  • The Young Person’s Award Ceremony (for Children in Care)
  • Frontliners networking and CPD event 2010 (as part of the Adult Advancement and Careers Services Pilot)
  • Spring Forward  - a 2 day celebratory event (received London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games Inspire Mark)
  • Transformation Funded 6 Month B&H Adult Learning Festival (her favourite!)
  •  Research: Julie oversaw the development and specification for the Adult Learning Group (ALG) Strategy mid term evaluation and facilitated the evaluation process.  She ensured that key recommendations were incorporated into The B&H Adult Learning Strategy.

 

Julie supports The Adult Learning Group, The Skills for Life Forum; The Information Advice & Guidance Outreach Workers Group; and The Operations Team for Community Learning. She edits Frontliners webpage.  She sits on the Volunteer Strategy Group, as well as 2012 Strategy Group.

 

Julie has a particular interest in creative teaching and learning, and cultural event management.
