Equal Brighton and Hove was a city-wide initiative that supported adults into training and employment. This was achieved by providing European Social Funding to a variety of projects undertaken by local organisations. The projects worked with people who have experienced difficulty in accessing conventional routes to learning and work. The aim was to enhance the employability of disadvantaged local people and provide a skilled labour pool for employers. National Employment Panel (NEP)

 

The NEP is an employer-led organisation which advises the Government on labour market policies and performance. Its principal objective is to help disadvantaged people move from poverty into jobs that contribute to business productivity and growth.

The following reports from the NEP summarise the South East region's progress in fulfilling this objective and set out clear objectives for the Learning & Skills Council, Sussex Learning & Skills Council and Jobcentre Plus to work together more effectively in the future.
