Community Participation in Community Buildings in Brighton and Hove
An Interim Report by Brighton & Hove Community Buildings Network
The interim report was a study into community participation in community buildings, examining 94 community buildings across the city. The research was funded by Neighbourhood Renewal and serves to provide base-line data for building activity and a basis for further research into the management and users of community buildings. Research was carried out from October 2004 to June 2005 by CBN, in partnership with the Trust for Developing Communities. (12/05)
Copies of the report are available online: full report (60 pages) / abridged report (30 pages)
Neighbourhood Renewal
In 2001 the Government launched A New Committment to Neighbourhood Renewal - a national strategy action plan for revitalising the most deprived parts of the country.
The Government has produced a factsheet explaining this in more detail.
In conjunction with this, local and district councils have developed their own, more specific, strategies that identify the needs of priority neighbourhoods.
Brighton & Hove City Council has produced a specific Neighbourhood Renewal strategy for the city.
Please follow these links for more detailed maps (printable Word versions) of the Neighbourhood Renewal Areas:

Area Investment Framework (AIF)
Developed by the South East of England Development Agency (SEEDA), the AIF will be used to channel regeneration funding into the priority areas of regeneration in the South East, of which Brighton & Hove is one.
